Description: This set was issued by Sharman Newspapers as one of a series of "Golden Age of" sets and contains colour photos of British-built cars from 1920 to 1939. The superb pictures and texts bring to life the achievements of these historic vehicles which include a 1920 Vauxhall E-Type, a 1922 Rover Eight, a two-seat Bentley tourer, the 1923 Austin Seven which is described as the 1920's equivalent of the Mini, a 1924 Sunbeam, the unconventional Trojan PB of 1924, the Morris Cowley named after William Morris who was described as the Henry Ford of the British motor industry, a 1925 Rolls-Royce Phantom 1 formerly owned by the second Lord Montagu of Beaulieu, a 1930 M.G. Midget, the 1933 Aston Martin 1 ½ litre used at Le Mans, a Morgan Super Sports three-wheeler, the quiet running Talbot 105, a 1935 Austin Ten Lichfield, the 1937 Wolseley 25hp given by the workers to Lord Nuffield and the sleek Lagonda V-12 from 1939. Interestingly the bottom of the card gives details of the price, top speed and fuel consumption of the cars.

This excellent set was also issued by John Player Cigarettes with their Doncella Cigars in 1977. Size 90 x 50mm.
